Donald Gibson, President & CEO of the Bank of Greene County, announced that “due to the continued growth and success of our Bank, we are adding a Capital Region Lending Team, and creating a new position of Vice President and Director of Capital Region Lending.”
Michael (Mike) Danforth has joined the Bank team, and brings over 30 years of experience in the Banking Industry. Don Gibson stated “we are extremely pleased to add someone with Mike’s business development and relationship management experience. The Capital Region is one of our fastest growing markets, and we recently opened a branch office on Columbia Turnpike in East Greenbush, which has been extremely successful. Mike has been a Relationship Manager and Vice President in the Banking industry and brings a lot of experience helping individuals and businesses in the Capital Region. It’s a natural fit to have him join the Bank of Greene County, and provide leadership to our new Capital Region Lending Team.”
John Antalek, Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer stated “we are thrilled that Mike is joining the Bank of Greene County Team. His experience helping businesses and managing a large loan portfolio will help us continue to grow in the Capital Region Market, while providing the highest level of service to new customers and maintaining that same level of service for existing customers.”

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Ithaca College, and was previously the Board President for Rensselaer County Housing Resources. He is very involved in his local community, and has extensive professional experience in the Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare, and Not for Profit Banking sectors. Mike lives in Clifton Park with his wife Rebecca and daughters Erica and Jenna.
